This course will provide candidates with a deep understanding of the values and principles which underpin the Standards for Childhood Practice. It is designed to help learners develop the essential knowledge and skills required to work in early education and childcare settings and reflect the complex nature of the Profession. It will enable candidates to integrate knowledge, theory and practice effectively in the context of current Legislation & Policy including SSSC Code of Practice and National Care Standards.

This course prepares candidates to register with the SSSC at ‘practitioner’ level or progressing to the Higher Education.

Course content: Leadership starts with me; Lifespan development theoretical approaches; Promote effective communication; Support for play learning and development; Language literacy and numeracy; Working with children age options.

Tuesday - 6:00pm-9:00pm

Entry Requirements

Applicants have to be employed as an Early Years practitioner or working with early years in a voluntary capacity.

Progression Routes

Employment or progression to HND Childhood Practice or degree course.
