These are two freestanding units and have been designed for candidates whose first language is not English but who needs to develop their ability to use English in a broad range of personal and social contexts.
While studying these units, candidates will develop their competence in the skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing in English for personal and social purposes.
Applicants should have English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) at SCQF Level 2 or complete an ESOL Initial Assessment (with a college lecturer) prior to beginning the course.
Progression on to ESOL at SCQF Level 4.
