Content

The purpose of this qualification is to provide the knowledge, skills and understanding to be a junior barber. The units include: Health and Safety; Client Consultation; Shampoo and Conditioning Hair; Researching Working in the Hair Industry; Basic Cutting (including facial hair) Styling Men's Hair, Promoting Products and Services to Clients. This qualification structure provides learners with the flexibility to develop the knowledge, understanding and skills depending upon their designated career pathway. This qualification is based on the Barbering National Occupational Standards (NOS) and is recognised by the UK's leading barbering association and professional hairdressing body.

Entry Requirements

Two subjects at National 4 preferred or Level 1 VTCT qualification in Hairdressing and Barbering. Applicants will be invited to an group information session, interview and skills test.
