This course introduces students to the basic principles of mechanical engineering. from the study of moving bodies, including fluids, to the effects of pressure, temperature and force and how different materials affect how systems perform. It gives you the knowledge and understanding for further study at HNC, HND and degree levels.

The course incudes:

Dynamics; Statics; Thermofluids; Material science; Mathematics, IT and communications.

Entry Requirements

National 5 Maths, and preferably physics or a technological subject; or relevant NC in an engineering subject at Level 5. Interview. Pre-entry test.
