Studying Urban Planning and Property Development at Heriot-Watt prepares you for a professional career in real estate investment, development, or urban planning and design. It brings together theoretical, practical and policy content from both spheres – town planning and real estate.

The Urban Planning and Property Development course combines real estate management with urban and regional planning and design to provide a broad knowledge of the sector.

Learn key field work skills in surveying, mapping and key research skills whilst learning core modules in statistics and data analysis. A cross disciplinary working that helps student acquire a mutual understanding between professions.

Urban Planning and Property Development year 3 students take part in a professional mentoring scheme that matches them with local practitioners.

Entry Requirements

2021 entry requirements:
Standard entry: 4/5 Highers at AABB or BBBBC plus English and Maths at National 5.

Widening access entry: 4 Highers at BBBC plus English and Maths at National 5.

For entry to Level 2 you would require 2 Advanced Highers at BB plus 4/5 Highers at AABB or BBBBC.
