This course will help you develop a deeper understanding and an increased skillset in the theory and practical elements required to work in the outdoor pursuits industry. It is a practical, full time course designed to equip you for further study or employment. It is ideal for those looking for a career in an exciting, varied and developing industry. There are activity related residentials and a 5 – 6 week work placement.

Hill and Moorland Leader training; Climbing Wall Award training; UKCC Paddle Sports Level 1; First Aid; John Muir Discovery Award; Snow Sport Proficiencies; SQA Core Skills.

Entry Requirements

No formal entry requirements. Evidence of participation and experience in at least two of the following Hillwalking, Mountain Biking, Paddle sports and Climbing is required. Interview.

You will require a satisfactory criminal record check from Disclosure Scotland to show that you are suitable for this type of course. Contact Disclosure Scotland for details on the type you would need.
