This wide-ranging course provides a strong base for progression to higher level scientific study.
Topics include biology, chemistry, ecology and microbiology. Throughout the course you will acquire a range of practical skills and experience in science disciplines which will prepare you for employment or further study.
Assessment will be through appraisal of lab and course work.
Units covered include: Cell biology; Statistics for science; Laboratory skills for science industries; Fundamental chemistry: theory and practice; Applied sciences: graded unit 1
There is also a range of optional units.
1 Higher at C or above in a science subject, Biology, Chemistry or Physics preferred plus Biology or Chemistry at National 5; or Foundation Apprenticeship Scientific Technologies (Laboratory Skills) plus National 5 Biology or Chemistry; or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6. You may be required to attend for interview.
