The programme provides a broad foundation of photographic skills and experiences relating to studio and location photography using digital and silver-based medias. The programme also develops experience of co-operative working, presentation, exhibition and self-promotion skills that may provide initial entry to employment within the photo-imaging sector.
You will undertake a range of integrated projects developing skills in traditional photography and image editing software. Lessons will take place in general classrooms with a considerable amount of time spent in our photographic studios, film dark rooms and Apple Mac labs.
Subjects studied will include the following areas: Camera Techniques, Lighting, Studio Photography, Portraiture, Location Photography, Analogue Processes, Digital Imaging, Creative Manipulation, Image Manipulation and File Optimisation. The course content is subject to change.
3 subjects at National 5, preferably including English and Art and Design. Interview and portfolio of work.
