This course gives you practical and personal skills to prepare you for employment in the construction industry. It is equivalent to first year university degree-level. It covers geotechnics, civil engineering contracts and project management, construction site surveying, and construction technology (substructure and structural mechanics).

The course is classroom-based with practical experience gained from workshops, field trips and site visits.

This is Year 1 of a 2 year course.

Entry Requirements

NC in a related discipline. Relevant SVQ. Relevant Industrial experience. Candidates will be considered on an individual basis. Interview.

Progression Routes

HND in Civil Engineering or 2nd year entry to University with additional 3 credits.
