This course is for those wanting to develop skills, knowledge and experience for work in the construction industry in areas such as construction, construction engineering, structural engineering and other specialist areas.

This course gives the grounding for progression into further study at a higher level at college or university. The course content includes theory and site visits and supported with work placements for you to gain direct experience of the construction industry.

The course is classroom based with practical experience gained from workshops, field trips and site visits. It includes:
Civil engineering site works, Computer aided draughting, Modern methods of construction, Health and safety in a construction environment, Modern methods of construction, Mathematics, Civil engineering technology, Civil engineering materials

Entry Requirements

English, Maths and a science or technological subject at National 5; or a relevant NC. Entry is by interview and short test.
