This course is for those wanting to develop skills, knowledge and experience for work in the construction industry in areas such as construction, construction engineering, structural engineering and other specialist areas.

The course is classroom based with practical experience gained from workshops, field trips and site visits. It includes:

Civil Engineering Materials; Civil Engineering Project; Civil Engineering Site Work; Civil Engineering Technology; Computer Aided Drafting: An Introduction; Construction Site Surveying: An Introduction
Health and Safety in the Construction Industry; Mathematics: Craft 1; Mechanics for Construction: An Introduction; Construction Engineering Mathematics; Construction Technology: Groundworks and Substructure; Construction Calculations; Drawing for Construction; Environmental Building Science: An Introduction; Modern Methods of Construction: An Introduction; Construction Project Management: An Introduction.

Entry Requirements

3 relevant subjects at National 5 including Maths, or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 5. Interview and aptitude test.
