This course is a good choice for adults looking to return to education after a break of three or more years or 5 years if you already hold SCQF Level 6 or HN qualifications. It is designed to give you the knowledge, core skills and confidence to progress onto a degree course in primary/secondary teaching, social work, humanities or community education.

The course includes:

Psychology; Communication; Literature; National 5 Maths; Child development; Play and Outdoor; Language, Literacy and Numeracy; Positive Behaviour Strategies.

Entry Requirements

Must have been out of formal education for at least 3 years or 5 years if you have Higher or equivalent qualifications. Entry by interview. Pre-entry test.

If you are offered a place, you need to attend a one-week maths course in the summer.

You will require a satisfactory criminal record check from Disclosure Scotland to show that you are suitable for this type of course. Contact Disclosure Scotland for details on the type you would need. You can do this through the college if you are offered a place.
