Old Aberdeen Campus
TQFE is a teaching qualification designed as an in-service professional learning opportunity for lecturers in Scotland's Colleges (people already employed in a further education college setting or other relevant setting). The programme aims to help practitioners review their own practice, extend their skills and knowledge in relation to the professional context in which they teach and enhance the experience of all learners in further education.
TQFE is approved by the Scottish Government and the General Teaching Council for Scotland. Successful completion provides eligibility for voluntary registration with the GTC (Scotland).
The programme consists of three courses at SCQF level 9 (degree route) or level 11 (masters route) delivered in partnership with colleges, flexibly online or on-site at the college campus (at the request of the college, subject to viable groups). The online route allows for small numbers of participants from different colleges to work together throughout the TQFE.
You must already be employed in a college or other appropriate setting. For TQFE at SCQF Level 9 you must have completed minimally a HND (or equivalent) in a subject relevant to your area of teaching. For TQFE at SCQF Level 11 you must have a good honours degree in a subject relevant to your area of teaching (or equivalent). TQFE is part of the BA Professional Development (BAPD) programme.
