French is spoken by over 200 million people in more than 50 countries around the world. It is one of the foremost languages of international communication.
Study the French language and culture to Graduate Diploma level, at your own pace, when and where you like. Join Dundee's ‘virtual’ learning community, in regular contact with your French tutors and fellow students, and attend Immersion Days in Dundee.
Suitable for Secondary Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) teachers who wishe to gain a recognised additional teaching qualification in French; Primary, Further or Adult Education teachers who would like to improve their French for teaching purposes; or advanced students of French (Higher+) who wish to gain a University Diploma in French for work purposes or for personal interest.
Applicants will normally have a pass in Higher French (or equivalent, such as the Dundee Intensive French course by distance-learning), plus an undergraduate degree or equivalent. If you are a Secondary MFL teacher seeking an additional qualification in French your undergraduate degree should normally be in another Modern Foreign Language, and you should hold a current Secondary MFL teaching qualification.
