The Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI) is a professional-level qualification offered by the Chartered Institute of Linguists (London). It is ideal if you are a bilingual person working or wishing to work as an interpreter and/or translator in the public services.

Through role-plays written and oral translation practice presentations discussion and visiting speakers you will learn valuable translation and interpretation skills. Upon successful completion of the course and final exams you will gain the Chartered Institute of Linguists Diploma (CIOL).

Entry Requirements

You should be very fluent in English and one other language. Please apply and a secondary application form will be sent to you along with a brochure giving you further information. Interview.

Progression Routes

Apply for inclusion on the National Register of Public Service Interpreting or gain employment as a qualified Community Interpreter.
