The Certificate in Computing and Digital Technology course is a locally devised programme which has been specifically designed both to aid progression on to the HNC Computing award and to prepare students for employment in helpdesk or junior IT posts. Topics covered include developing software, computer systems, e-business, databases, digital media and web design. One special element of this course is that it gives students the opportunity to achieve the SQA Higher Computing group award and includes units to develop students’ employability and enterprise skills.
All students will have the opportunity to secure a work placement with an employer, wherever possible in the Computing and IT sector, during the study of this course.
4 subjects at National 4 including English plus one other relevant subject. Satisfactory interview and references. Practical test.
