During the course you will complete several SQA units which make up the Group Award, including;
Supporting the Behaviour of Children and Young People; Supporting the Development of Children and Young People from Birth to 18 years; The Rights and Entitlements of Children and Young People; Professional Practice in an Educational Setting; Supporting Children and Young People who require Additional Support for Learning; Supporting Language, Literacy and Numeracy in an Educational Setting; First Aid National 5
You will be assessed continually throughout the course and on the outcome of your work placement.

Tuesday and Thursday - 9.30am - 3.00pm - Inverurie Learning Centre
A previous qualification in literacy/numeracy at SCQF Level 4 or equivalent is required. Core skills testing will be carried out before commencing the course. EAL Learners are required to have English for Speakers of Other Languages at SCQF Level 5 or above.
In addition, students should have a genuine interest in the welfare of children and a potential interest in working with children in an educational setting. Course booking is subject to core skills testing to be undertaken in the first meeting of the class.
