The contribution of inflammation and immune dysfunction to a wide range of diseases, from arthritis to cancer to obesity is becoming increasingly clear. The aim of this programme is to provide students with a holistic understanding of the science underlying the body’s Immune System (Immunology) and how the immune system causes Inflammatory Diseases such as Rheumatoid Arthritis, Asthma, Multiple Sclerosis and Cardiovascular Disease. Many graduates from this programme pursue a career in biomedical sciences often via PhD research, satisfying the demand for qualified research personnel in inflammatory disease research.
You can exit at the end of 3-4 months with PgCert Immunology and Inflammatory Disease.
You can exit at the end of 7-8 months with PgDip Immunology and Inflammatory Disease.
At least a second class Honours degree or equivalent in Biomedical Science or a relevant subject. Alternative qualifications will also be considered on a case-by-case basis. You are required to provide two references and a full degree transcript with your application.
