This course builds on the HNC. It covers all the key areas required for a technical support or networking role, including server administration, operating systems, security and routing, as well as introducing you to project management. At the end, you can also sit an exam in the Linux open source operating system if you wish.

The course covers:

Server administration skills; network server installation and maintenance; managing web servers; security concepts; routing technology; technical support procedures; managing a project; and maths skills in a computing context.

Entry Requirements

HNC Computing (Technical Support) with a minimum of 15 credits and preferably A or B for the Graded Unit. Entry subject to interview.

Progression Routes

Progression to employment or year 3 of a degree course, through the college's articulation arrangements.
