This course is for those looking to work in the exciting world of petroleum discovery and recovery. It has been designed to meet industry demand for a skilled workforce to work on oil/gas production platforms. You will find out about locating, extracting, and purifying the oil and gas before it is delivered to the refineries.
This course is suitable if you are seeking employment in the industry as well as providing underpinning knowledge for the existing workforce. The course content will prepare you for a number of jobs in production and exploration such as drilling engineering, mud logging, control room operation, and process engineering exploration.
Higher Maths at B and one from Chemistry, Physics or a technological subject; or Foundation Apprenticeship Engineering; or NC Mechanical Engineering (including SWAP Access to Engineering); or NC Engineering Systems; or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6. Interview.
