Preparation for Construction (Level 4)

Content

During the year you will develop skills and knowledge in various disciplines within the construction industry. There will be an opportunity to develop practical skills in a workshop environment, and develop knowledge and understanding of principles in the classroom. There is a strong emphasis on safety throughout the award. You will also develop your core skills in communication, information technology, problem solving, team-working and numeracy.

There is a two week summer school in July.

Entry Requirements

English, Maths and a science or technological subject at National 3. Entry by interview and short written test.

Progression Routes

Successful candidates may progress to SCQF Level 5 courses in Engineering, Construction and Motor Vehicle at West Lothian College.
