The NQ Business, Finance and IT NQ is an invaluable introductory course designed to provide you with a good grounding in business, accounting and IT skills which are desirable for jobs in finance, retail, marketing and customer services in any modern business. The course provides excellent business finance training and the college has great industry links which you will benefit from. The NQ also offers a solid progression route to a range of courses within the School of Business and Finance at Glasgow Clyde College.

Contents include: Recording cash transactions; Understanding business; Event organisation; Recording transactions in the ledger; Communication in business; Preparing financial accounting information; Management accounting; Contract law; Digital technologies; Preparing management accounting information; Preparing final accounts; Economics of the market; Recording cash and financial transactions; Introduction to book-keeping; Information Technology (spreadsheet, database, word processing); Personal development activities.

Entry Requirements

4 subjects at National 4 including English and a maths based subject, or relevant Foundation Apprenticeship.

Progression Routes

Relevant NQ at SCQF Level 6 or HND.
