This course will lead you into the heart of architectural technology. Discover more about contemporary practices, including a focus on Building Information Modelling (BIM). This course opens doors to a future where your expertise in architectural design and construction technology is in high demand.

Content includes:

skills in architectural design sketching and drawing, discovering your eye for detail; the BIM process, using advanced CAD and ICT collaboration platforms; insights into construction technology, structural design, and building services; practical tasks, from testing materials to conducting levelling surveys; work placement with industry leaders like LMA Architects or Denham Benn; and, site visits, exploring innovations at the Construction Scotland Innovation Centre.

Entry Requirements

1 relevant Higher, preferably English, Maths or a science subject, or Foundation Apprenticeship Civil Engineering, or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6.

Progression Routes

Relevant HND or progression to employment, or university, which may include articulation arrangements with a variety of degree courses.
