Content

This course will give you a good foundation for becoming a skilled tradesperson. As you might expect, you’ll do loads of practical work, including bricklaying, stonemasonry, plastering and tiling. You’ll also do a small amount of theory and will find out what you need to know to work successfully in the construction industry.

You will learn: how to build half brick and one brick walls, cavity walls and damp proofing; stonemasonry; plastering; tiling; about construction practices within the different trades; how to produce construction drawings.

Entry Requirements

3 relevant subjects at National 4, or Bricklaying (City and Guilds) Certificate or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 4. Entry subject to interview.

Progression Routes

Progression on to a range of relevant courses at SCQF Level 6 or an apprenticeship.
