The overall aim of the MSc Environmental Management (EM) programme is to enable students to develop an environmental specialisation, within the context of their previous qualifications and experience.

With increasing environmental legislation and regulation, commercial and industrial organisations, local authorities and public bodies, all require some environmental input to their activities.

Graduates have gone on to work for employers including local authorities, regulators such as Scottish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA), and provide research and consultancy for private companies.

The broad scope of the programme is designed to stretch students’ educational horizons across traditional subject boundaries, encompassing areas normally associated with engineering, biology, economics, legislation and others.

With pathways in Oil and Gas, Water, Energy, or Waste, students will learn to develop technical and non-technical arguments at an advanced level.

Entry Requirements

A 2:2 Honours degree or equivalent a relevant area. This includes any energy related degree, Environmental Science, Development Planning, Human Settlement Planning, Geology, Environmental Management, Geography, Chemical Engineering, Soil & Water Engineering, Zoology, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Economics.
