This course will equip you with the knowledge and skill sets required to create digital records and visualisations of heritage sites and objects of local, national and international significance.
You will become familiar with the range of skills needed for the meaningful 3D documentation of cultural sites and heritage assets, and the ability to present them effectively for use by the varied user groups and audiences engaged in areas such as cultural heritage management, conservation, academic research, tourism and beyond.
Programme Structure
Stage 1:
Core Research Skills for Postgraduates; 3D Modelling and Animation; Digital Documentation of Cultural Heritage; Interactive Heritage Visualisation.
You can exit after Stage 1 with PgCert International Heritage Visualisation.
Stage 2:
Data Acquisition and Processing; 2 GSA Electives. Recommended electives include:
Advanced 3D Modelling; Audio for Interactive Environments.
You can exit after Stage 2 with PgDip International Heritage Visualisation.
Stage 3:
MSc Research Project .
Honours degree or equivalent relevant professional practice in any of the following; history; archaeology; geography; cultural studies; architecture; the built environment; building surveying; city planning; 3D art and design; product design; digital media; digital arts; 3D modelling and animation; Computer science or computer graphics.
