Job Description

The Business Assistant post provides an excellent opportunity to work with Scottish Government officials and secondees from NHSScotland.  This is a high profile and fast moving policy area attracting considerable Ministerial, stakeholder and media involvement. 

This Business Support role will provide support to senior staff, including some diary and inbox management, and to the wider division, organising meetings and papers. It provides an excellent opportunity to gain experience of working in an area, with a range of staff and across the wider Scottish Government and communicating with stakeholders. This post is based within the Research, Business and Sponsorship Team of the Rural and Environment Science and Analytical Services Division. The Division is responsible for providing analytical and scientific support to help improve rural and environmental policy.

You would be expected to have a good general education.


Throughout the first 12 months the candidate will be expected to gain an SVQ in Business and Administration at SCQF Level 5. Support will be provided by an internal assessor who will work with the successful candidate on a monthly basis. Time will be given to work on your qualification, this includes presenting 2 presentations.
