About PlanIT Plus

We have given PlanIT Plus a new look and lots of extra features including:

• two new zones - Adult Zone, for adults returning to learning or changing career, and Adviser Zone, for career advisers and pastoral care teachers;
• a whole range of new multimedia Career Planning activities; and
• an exciting new Portfolio section so that users can save useful information that will help them with career planning and development.

The site still has all of the information and services you have come to expect and still sets the same high standards for quality and accuracy.

PlanIT Plus has been developed to help people of all ages to find out about career and learning opportunities in Scotland. We provide the most accurate and up-to-date career resources available online.

PlanIT Plus now has six Zones – Career Zone, Learning Zone, School Zone, Job Zone, Adult Zone and Advisers Zone – and a brand new Portfolio section. Advisers Zone is a secure area designed for career advisers and pastoral care or guidance staff in schools and colleges.

Career Zone holds information on over 600 job profiles, all full time and part time courses at Scottish colleges and universities, a new Career Planning section with career-related multimedia games and activities, our new career interest guide - Careerometer - and an online Career Support section for those who want further information or advice.

Learning Zone holds information on courses at colleges and universities in Scotland, course vacancies during Clearing, Open Days details, information for Students from Abroad and Courseometer, our new guide matching career interests and courses.

School Zone is aimed at school pupils, their teachers and parents and holds specific information to help them with subject, course and career choices. As well as resources to help with subject choice this zone has detailed information on National Qualifications, information on Scottish secondary schools and a new Life Links section. Life Links includes links to all sorts of specialist organizations dealing with personal or social issues, from bullying to equal opportunities.

Adult Zone is aimed at adults thinking of returning to learning or work, or considering a career change. It also includes Encore, our new interest guide for adults.

Advisers Zone is a password protected area that holds a bank of career education resources for career advisers and guidance or pastoral care teachers, which can be used to support students in the career planning process. It also gives advisers news about updates to PlanIT Plus, and additions to the career resources they can download from the site.

Portfolio is the first secure online career portfolio in Scotland. Users can quickly create their own Portfolio by registering on PlanIT Plus. Using their own unique username and password they can access Portfolio and build up their own personal career profile, a CV that can be saved and edited, and develop a store of careers and course information for their use in school, college or at home.

PlanIT Plus also has a large collection of useful information articles on topics from Finance for Study to Your Rights at Work and one of the most comprehensive sets of career useful websites you will find online.

The Search facility lets you search courses, job profiles, general articles or websites.
